Dr. Matthew Brecher is a graduate of Countryside High School where he enjoyed playing with the District champion basketball team. This led him to play basketball for Emory University in Atlanta, GA. After graduating with his BS in Biology from the University of South Florida, Dr. Brecher continued his education at Life College in Marietta, GA. Dr. Brecher graduated with his Doctor of Chiropractic degree and Masters of Sports Medicine in 1996.
After graduation, Dr. Brecher returned home to Clearwater. After interning under Dr. Michael Williams at Active Health & Wellness in Tampa and passing the Florida Board exam, Dr. Brecher continued to practice in Tampa. In 1999, Dr. Brecher purchased Active Health & Wellness and has enjoyed a successful practice since. Dr. Brecher has experienced great success in helping patients suffering trauma from auto accidents and has gathered a great team to ensure patients recover their health and well-being post accident. Dr. Brecher's vision is to improve the lives of his patients through quality chiropractic services, nutrition and therapy.
After 25 years exclusively in Tampa, Dr. Brecher is excited to open a second office close to home in Clearwater. The second location allows Dr. Brecher not only expand his services in Tampa Bay, but allows him to serve the community he loves.
Dr. Brecher and his wife Julie met during their last semester at the University of South Florida and have been married since 1993. Their son Zachary, a graduate of Cornell College, works alongside Dr. Brecher and coaches football part-time at Countryside High School where his younger brother, Caleb, a junior, attends and plays football.
